Dolores Park reservations are now handled by special procedures and their own form. The Dolores application is the first choice on the on-line Special Events Application page of the Rec and Parks web-site.

Note, even small picnic tables need to go through this longer process to be reserved.   But, it about $30 or so for small picnics, so place your request well in advance and follow up with a phone call a few days after posting.   You can try and grab a table early, and if no one challenges you with a formal reservation, you are good to go.  A blanket, card table and picnic basket is also a good way to go.  Remember, BBQs are forbidden, though at this time  this rule is not vigorously enforced.

Drinking alcohol in Dolores is also against park policy, and the cops are issuing stern warnings.  If you need amplified music beyond a small portable device, please get park permit. non-permitted events, with a band or sound systems are being shut down.

This application must be used for all special events or picnics in Dolores Park. Due to over congestion at Dolores Park, the number and types of events have been limited. Applications for events at Dolores Park will be reviewed in total taking into account the overall impact on the neighborhood. Applications will be reviewed two times a month on the 1st and 3^rd Monday of each month. Please note the following:

1. No BBQ’s are allowed at Dolores Park
2. Drinking of alcohol at Dolores Park is prohibited except by resolution of the SF Recreation and Park Commission
3. Sound amplification requires a special permit.
